Singer/songwriter Bill Miller won five Native American Music Awards for his 1999 album ‘Ghost Dance.’
The Studios of Key West is launching an Old Town New Folk music series on Thursday, Dec. 4 with Grammy-winning musician Bill Miller. One of the leading contemporary Native American performers, Miller incorporates western folk, blues, and indigenous instruments to create an entirely fresh brand of music. His two recent recording projects, Spirit Rain and Cedar Dream Songs, have won over new audiences and critics alike.

“I Served the King England,” based on the novel of the same name by Czech novelist Bohumil Hrabal, was released in Europe in January of 2007, and in the United States in August of this year.
"I Served the King of England” by Bohumil Hrabal was one of those great works of European literature that never made it onto cross-Atlantic flights. No one knows of it here. It could be that it wouldn’t be understood by Americans who, for the whole of their history, have never felt much futility and who are recently fond of the chant “Yes we Can.”

Michael Neri works as a gardener for the MARC House and makes art in the ReMARCable Art program. He told the Keynoter that he likes drawing faces but is particularly fond of drawing “cool designs.”
Key West personalities and a number of local politicians discovered their portraits hanging on the walls in the lobby of the Gato building at the Nov. 7 opening of the MARC House exhibit “One Human Family.”
